So, because I’m obviously completely insane, I started a project last summer and have been diligently working on it ever since in my spare time: the complete history of Earth-1, as well as Earth-2, Earth-C, Earth-12, and the rest.
Basically I’m attempting to place every single DC story on the various timelines of the universes in chronological order, including the massive amounts of WW2 comics and the various horror/mystery, western, sci fi, and even romance.
I’m even trying to note every single instance of time travel in the comics, starting with all those time trips done by the Superman family in the Silver Age, when visiting the past or future was as common and easy as going to the corner store.
Also trying to note all the lore in the form of flashbacks to significant moments in the past, including the various lost civilizations from prehistory.
It’s a massive job, but really fun. When I’m done the prehistoric age, I’ll share my findings here.

That sounds great. Feel free to use any of the entries I added to the E-1 timeline for Arion or any other character.

And some of us think putting a simple story together is time consuming.
Are you using the 5-Earths' dating scheme where the Silver Age takes place from roughly mid-70's through Crisis except for characters that were set with real world dates (Sgt Rock, western heroes ...)?
If it's the 5-Earths format it might be an interesting group project people could help with. And once you had the official DC version it would be easy to add the stories here to make it both a site resource and a way to spur Times Past stories.

Yes, it's for the 5 Earths, but could be enjoyed by anyone since it's mostly comics-based. Reading a lot of those older stories has certainly given me ideas. For example, I kind of wonder if Jon Ross, son of Pete Ross, grows up to be the father of Chris KL-99. If I were to write such a story, it would take place sometime in the 2000s/2010s/2020s/2030s and be titled, "Legend of the Starfarer." It makes sense if you read Chris KL-99's origin story. Speaking of which, it's really interesting to piece together a history of the Future of the DCU, since there were so many science fiction stories taking place in the future. Many of them had no date, but there were a lot that were given hard dates, and most of them tend to fit together in a rough timeline so far, with a few outliers that obviously take place in a few major alternate timelines. One of the more interesting alternate timelines is the Day After Doomsday/Atomic Knights/Kamandi timeline, for obvious reasons.

I like your Jon Ross idea. I''ve read the Chris KL-99 stories but the character himself seemed less interesting to me than his alien pals or other heroes like Space Ranger or Star Hawkins. I'd like to see someone do something with Chris since I've never felt like I had any real ideas for him.

Pure pulp adventure with little characterization, but great fun. It would be fun to figure out the genealogy of Halk, who was once the chief scientist of Mars, but has red skin instead of green, making me think he may be a "Saturnian" Martian. And Jero's story is almost completely unknown. Venusians do appear here and there in various DC Comics, such as the blue-skinned primitives who show up in an early Green Lantern story, but no real Venusians appear in any Martian Manhunter comics as far as I can tell. Of course, we have to come up with some kind of explanation of why there's any life at all on Venus -- perhaps it's an underground civilization, or one with an artificial atmosphere, sort of like a giant game preserve.

Thanks, John. I keep meaning to get you and others access to the Who's Who site to help make updates to our own encyclopedia and timelines.
