Tommy Tomorrow II had a very brief publishing history. We have elsewhere speculated that he was the son of Tommy Tomorrow I and both were from a much more scientifically advanced earth as the second versions adventures took place in 1989 -1990 In Appearances: Action Comics Vol 1 #127 December 1948 - Action Comics Vol 1 #147 August 1950. During this time he ran across a couple of villain's: Iron Hand II (Action Comics Vol 1 #143 April 1950) Vulture VI Smith (Acton Comics Vol 1 #199 December 1949)

Believe me, it is a joy to read these comics. My goal is to read all the adventure, superhero, western, and war comics published by DC or the characters they later bought from 1935 through the end of 1986 with the end of the end of the Crisis on Infinite Earths aftermath. I have been discovering all kinds of gems in the books.

Quality's Manhunter I, rookie Police Officer Dan Richard started fighting crime as Manhunter in March 1942 just one month before DC's now more famous big game hunter Paul Kirk began his career as Manhunter II. (Note DC had a totally different character who was named Paul Kirk and was a private detective named Manhunter who Simon and Kirby completely revamped into Manhunter II.) While the more famous Paul Kirk's strip ended in 1944 Dans lasted to August 1950. Manhunter and his canine sidekick Thor closed up shop in August of 1950. Here are their Villains: Cobra II (Police Comics Vol 1 # 14 December 1941) Gas Gang (Police Comics Vol 1 #11 September 1942) Ghost Master (Police Comics Vol 1 #26 January 1944) The Hatchet (Police Comics Vol 1 $58 September 1946) Jawbone (Police Comics Vol 1 #60 November 1946) Mastiff Man (Police Comics Vol 1#85 December 1948) The Match I (Police Comics Vol 1 #37 December 1944) Mimic II the Great (Police Comics Vol 1 #93 August 1949) Mister Relax (Police Comics Vol 1 #96 November 1949) Haired Kate (Police Comics Vol 1#17 March 1943) Rhymester (Police Comics Vol 1 #23 October 1943) Sonjak (Police Comics Vol 1 #40 March 1945) Thinker VI Thelan (Police Comics Vol 1 #94 September 1949) Voodoo Queen (Police Comics Vol 1 #9 May 1942) Xaxol (Police Comics Vol 1 #9 May 1942)

I meant to write Lady Luck's villains in Quality Comics as she had more in the papers.

Jeb Rivers was a short-lived strip that replaced Kid Eternity as the lead feature in Hit Comics just before its cancelation. Je was a fighting Mississippi riverboat pilot on the pre-civil war United States. He had only one villain of note. A man named Joker, a name that puts him on my list : Joker I Poole (Hit Comics Vol 1 #63 March 1950)

Scribbly Jibbet first appeared In All-American Comics with its first issue. The comical strip would later feature the Original Red Tornado and the Cyclone Twins. It was wonderful series that end in 1944. Scribbly returned in 1948 in his own comic in 1948 that ran until the end of 1950. The Scribbly who starred in his own book may or may not have been the same one who was in All- American Comics as the father, Wilton, was now living with the Jibbet's in the suburbs, Scribbly kid brother was now named Soony rather than Dinky (Though Sisty Hunkle was still in love with Scribbly's younger brother. Another change was Scribbly working for another newspaper with no mention of his first job from All-American Comics. Added to the strip was Scribbly's steady girlfriend Clover Cooley. If you are feeling blue and need a laugh Sheldon Meyer's Scribbly will get you to laugh. Scribbly had no villains per se but he did have two antagonists His newspapers editor who was only called by his last name and rival for Clover's affections: Bentley Bilgewater (Scribbly Vol 1 #6 June 1949) O'Hara (Scribbly Vol 1 #1 August 1948)

In the late 1940's early 1950's comics were trying to find new profitable niches as the superhero lost popularity. Romance comics and Western began and flourished in this era. Quality tried a book highlighting pirates, or rather those who fought Pirates. Buccaneers lasted a mere 10 issues with a total of 5 lead characters. Here the three who had their villains of note.
Adam Peril USN Captain Phantom (Buccaneers Vol 1 #25 January 1951) King Cobra I (Buccaneers Vol 1 #26 March 1951)
Captain Daring Captain Clews (Buccaneers Vol 1 #25 January 1951) Captain Shark (Buccaneers Vol 1 #19 January 1950) King Plunder (Buccaneers Vol 1 #25 January 1951) Lord Virells (Buccaneers Vol 1 #19 January 1950)
Eric Falcon, Soldier of Fortune Captain Cutlass I (Buccaneers Vol 1 #27 May 1951) Captain Hawk I (Buccaneers Vol 1 #25 January 1951) Pancras (Buccaneers Vol 1 #19 January 1950)
