As some of you may know, my wife and I recently had our second child. She's kept us pretty busy, since she's still in that newborn phase in which she wants to be held at all times. Understandably, this has put a cramp in my writing time, which was already vastly reduced due to a new job and a home business on the side.
For the longest time I had writer's block when it came to my stories, but since setting up this forum, I've been getting a lot of ideas. The only problem is that I don't have enough time or energy to write them just yet. It's getting me down. I would love to be like Csyphrett in the old days and contribute one small chapter to one of my multiple stories every single day, and thus slowly pick away at it, but I haven't been able to even manage that just yet. Things should change soon, but for now please bear with me. That said, I do have another chapter of the Legion of Doom story that I wrote several months ago and hadn't posted yet for some reason. I'll try to post it tonight or sometime this weekend.
How are the rest of you doing as far as writing goes? I have many ideas but lack of time to write them out, but others may have the opposite problem, or something else entirely. Just curious.

Mine is an issue of discipline with me. I'm pretty easily distracted and it doesn't help that the biggest object of my distraction is the same tool used to post stories.

...the biggest object of my distraction is the same tool used to post stories. At least, there are only a limited number of posts to read here, SH! I like the idea of dropping in small chapters on a regular basis. I also like the 'edit in place' feature, it is nice to be able to make changes 'right now' as I'm reading and not have to make a new post. Which, to Starsky's point, does tend to take time away from writing new stuff.

lol. I wish it were that noble. My problem is I'm basically ADD and the internet is like crack for people like me.
When new stuff is created, it probably should apear as a new post on the thread, though, to let everyone know there is new stuff there, though.

Congratulations on the new baby! I've wrestled around with these ideas for a while now without being productive:
Some of the Batmen of the World like China's Golden Dragon, America's Chief Man of Bats etc. in battle against foes working for a mysterious group employed as ever changing hired help by the retired Terrible Trio.
A look into the real nature of the former Lawless League.
The return of nearly forgotten villains Kraad and Jemphis.
But, I plot without reaching a satisfying conclusion so far.

I'm trying out an experiment, and setting aside 30 minutes each day to write a short chapter addition to one of my (many) unfinished stories. Some of them I may write in more often as inspiration strikes, but I hope to continue all of them and chip away until they're satisfactorily finished. Please bear with me, as my writing may not be quite as polished as I usually try to make it. I figure it's better to just write than worry about getting it perfect (which is impossible, anyway), so I'm trying to turn off my editorial mind and just use my writing mind to create these new chapters.
I'd love any feedback if you have it, though don't feel compelled to just post something if you have nothing to say. These new chapters are shorter, and thus there's less to comment on. I am looking to improve things at the same time, so constructive criticism is welcome.
So far I've made three new updates (four, if you count the Doomsday update posted earlier).

Thats a good idea. Thats Stephen King's advice to new writers.... setting aside some time each day and making yourself write. I really need to do that myself.

I try to write a little something on my story every day, but I can never seem to find the time. It's a pity, becasue I was almost at the grand finale.

Maybe it's just the different kind of platform we're using, but I'm finding I haven't been getting as many comments and feedback as I'd get when I posted on the Yahoo Groups. Sure, the comments may be a bit more visible in a message thread than by email, but don't worry that you might be breaking up the flow of the story with comments. They are very welcome.
Guys, it doesn't take much from you for a kind word or two, but it means everything to me when I post something and get feedback. Otherwise, I really have no idea if anyone's reading it. Feedback is a way of encouraging a writer to continue a story, after all. It's discouraging when you don't get them on new story chapters.
