In the adJusted Society of America story, Lee has introduced a character called the Green Genie. He never actually appeared in a story, only on a cover... (see here: pdsh.fandom.com/wiki/Green_Genie)
I'd like to figure out who owned the magic lamp and how he got it. Something off-beat that will not just be a rerun of all the other 'found a magic lamp' stories. Any thoughts? Maybe some familiar story with an unusual twist, or something totally different. Thanks!

Okay, how about this? The Abbasid Caliphate was a centre of Muslim civilisation and learning. This included delving into the paranormal, leading one such figure to witness the future moral turpitude and dissension that would befall the Faithful and those of righteous disposition in forthcoming centuries. Accordingly, he summoned a benign djinn (genie), who was green-hued, symbolising that the djinn was blessed by Allah the Merciful and Compassionate and not an evildoer and sealed him in a green lamp so that at a future date at which turmoil, dissension, hatred and corruption were at their peak, the Green Genie would emerge when invoked by a suitably righteous and pure soul.

thank you! Unfortunately the Green Genie is a villain. Although since he never actually appeared in a story, but only on a cover, I could make him a good guy. Though that would wreck the story... but I do have some ideas about that.

If its the same Green Genie he appeared on the cover of Capt. Couragious. I understand that after his first appearance Capt. Couragious never used his powers again. Maybe the Genie is the reason why.

that's something new - thank you! From reading online bios, it appears that when he enlisted, Captain Courageous lost his powers. Which might have had something to do with his encounter with the Green Genie.
I wonder if the Green Genie might be a gaseous alien being and the 'lamp' his spacecraft - and he might even be one of the good guys, with Captain Courageous slugging him on the cover by mistake? The woman looks concerned but not terrified.
